Coming from a conservative middle-class family in the outstretch of the Bavarian Alps, all I knew about money, was the family mantra which was: SAVE, SAVE, SAVE and always be SAFE. According to this, the only way to create a stable and safe life was to be employed in the corporate world, earn a regular paycheck, and save everything you can to slowly build up a more prosperous life. This vision, however, was never an option for me because as a spiritual and creative person I longed to bring something of my own into this world.
